Six changes to your morning to transform your day

"The way you begin each day defines how you'll live each day"

1. STRETCH

Your body has just been booted down for hours, as you can't be expected to be raring to go. This can be done just by lying in bed, stretching your legs and overhead movements then progressing from there. Great way to start to energize your body, this can be done for as little as long as you like.

2. DITCH THE SOCIAL MEDIA FOR AT LEAST 15 MINUTES

Besides turning off an alarm that might be on your phone, resist the urge to check your social media. It sets you for being enslaved to technology, and your morning time should be reserved just for you and winning your morning. This might mean disabling notifications on your home screen so you're not tempted by that Facebook update as soon as you wake up, this should be done with emails too.

3. GO FOR A WALK OR JOG, OR DOWN DO YOUR LOCAL GYM

This can be done for as little as 15 minutes for up to as long as you like. Great way to reflect on your day coming up, getting those natural endorphins going to give you a clear mind by winning your morning and setting yourself up for a stress-free day.

4. BANISH THIS SNOOZE BUTTON

This will help to get your body into a natural rhythm each day, otherwise, that snooze button becomes your best friend. Set your alarm for the exact time you need to get up, its tough but will benefit you a lot more in the long run.

5. HEALTHY BREAKFAST

Breakfast provides the body and brain with fuel after an overnight fast - that's where its name originates, breaking the fast! Without breakfast, you are effectively running on empty, like trying to start the car with no petrol. Try and stay away from high sugar cereals, oatmeal and cooked eggs is a great alternative to giving you that energy you need rather than a mid-morning sugar crash.

6. PREPARE THE NIGHT BEFORE

Spending a few minutes the night before to get prepared for the next day can save you a significant amount of time in the morning. Without doing this you could be already setting yourself up for failure, before you actually wake up. This can be done as little as preparing your clothes for work or packing your gym bag, these small changes can make a big difference.
